Call for Speakers

Thank you for your interest to speak at RII’s inaugural Indoor Agriculture Energy Solutions (IAES) Conference. IAES is a key touchstone in shaping the future of energy policies and utility programs for controlled environment agriculture, drawing from the lessons of early models emerging in cannabis cultivation and extending to the rapidly scaling urban and vertical farming sectors.


Presentations are invited to present within the conference key themes:

  • Learnings from early regulated cannabis markets 

  • The future of agriculture in a climate-constrained world

  • Technology innovation roadmap

  • Nuances in regulating buildings containing plants versus buildings containing humans

  • Insights on what data is telling us about energy, water and carbon impacts

  • Emerging best practices on how to effectively design and optimize efficient cultivation operations

  • Envisioning a decarbonized agricultural model

  • Aligning codes, incentives and outcomes

 

  • If your session is accepted, you must comply with the due dates and requirements listed below. If you are unable to meet the requirements, please contact the IAES conference team at IAESconference@drintl.com, with subject line “Presentation Submission Withdrawal” to withdraw your application.

  • If you are submitting for a colleague or a panel discussion, the names and profiles for each of the participants is required. This information can be updated within reason.

  • Please note for panels, at least one person must be the presenter to receive notifications.

  • If your session is approved, you will be notified with the additional information required.

  • Submissions to speak at IAES 2020 is done via the submission portal only. We cannot accept data by any other means.

  • IAES will provide complimentary registration for accepted abstracts.

  • Travel, lodging and associated costs are solely the responsibility of each presenter. IAES does not cover travel costs. Please book the hotel via the portal to avoid confusion.

  • Due dates are mandatory:

    • Call for Speakers – closing date October 18, 2019

    • Notification of Acceptance – November 8, 2019

    • Bio and Headshots Due – December 6, 2019

    • Schedule of Date and Times – December 20, 2019

    • Presentation Draft – February 5, 2020

    • Final Presentation – February 19, 2020

    • Speaker rehearsal (optional) February 23, 2020

  • Please meet the required delivery dates to remain as an IAES presenter.

  • Presentation Abstract require:

    • Name

    • Email

    • Organization

    • Name of Session

    • Session Format (lecture, panel, etc)

    • Is any prerequisite knowledge required?

      • 25 word maximum

    • Summary of Presentation

      • Not to exceed 500 characters

      • Include names and organizations of other panelists, if applicable
